*The Role and Responsibilities*
As the Industrial Systems Specialist, you are integral to driving operational excellence and competitiveness, through lean manufacturing practices and technology optimization.
You are pivotal in the enhancement of operational efficiency and productivity through the optimization of production processes and effective management of resources.
You play a key role in reducing costs and increasing profitability through your meticulous analysis of data and support of the H&T Excellence team in the implementation of strategic cost-saving measures.
Your contributions are crucial in delivering our products On Time in Full (OTIF), improving product quality and achieving customer satisfaction, and inventory management.
Your analytical expertise is key in the forecasting and scheduling of maintenance activities, ensuring they align seamlessly with production schedules to minimize downtime.
Your efforts also bolster workplace safety and support informed decision-making, while promoting sustainability in our manufacturing processes.
Overall, your blend of technical, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills along with your adaptability to change are essential in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and profitable operation of production and manufacturing activities.
*Your Key Areas of Impact* Training Program Development, Documentation, and Matrix: To ensure that all employees are uniformly trained, leading to consistent work quality and efficiency, and to promote best practices and standardized processes, you assist in developing and maintaining comprehensive training and development documentation, including the consolidation and review of existing training materials into a unified, future-oriented training framework.
In addition, you track and maintain employee training records within the training matrix, which will be integrated into the company Quality Management System (QMS).
Performance Reporting: Utilizing the online system, Infor Shop Floor, you create and manage regular performance reports (daily, weekly, monthly) to track and analyze production metrics, which will provide a clear understanding of production performance thus enabling timely identification of improvement areas and the tracking of effectiveness of implemented strategies.
Performance Analysis and Corrective Action Planning: Reviewing output performance, equipment downtime, rejection rates, and tooling consumption to pinpoint inefficiencies, you provide insights and recommendations to the Production Manager and Supervisor for necessary corrective actions.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Enhancement: Ensuring that operations stay efficient, current, and compliant, you assist in developing and refining SOPs based on operational feedback, thus reducing errors, and enhancing process quality.
Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Optimization: You adjust and maintain the MES, using operational feedback to ensure it supports real-time production to drive continuous improvement processes (CIP).
In addition, you generate individual MES reports as requested by operations to support specific analytical needs.
Material Consumption Tracking and Yield Calculation: You track material consumption and calculate yield, optimizing material-use to reduce waste and costs, improving profitability and sustainability.
Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) System Improvement: By continuously updating and enhancing the MRP system, you ensure it is perfectly aligned with operational needs, which is crucial for efficient resource planning and inventory management.
The expected outcomes of these improvements include significantly increased inventory accuracy, ensuring materials are available when needed and reducing excess stock.
This precision directly contributes to reduced production lead times, as materials flow more efficiently through the production process, enabling us to meet customer demands more promptly and reliably.
These improvements are fundamental to optimizing material use, minimizing waste and costs, and ultimately enhancing profitability and sustainability within our manufacturing operations.
Production Plan Updates: Allowing for a responsive production strategy, you regularly update the weekly production plan, ensuring it reflects current performance and forecasted changes.
Quality Assurance and Rejection Analysis: You analyze quality assurance and manage rejection data, maintaining high product quality standards and reducing waste, impacting customer satisfaction and cost efficiency.
Manual Inspection Planning: You assist with the requirements for manual inspections to meet quality standards and reduce the likelihood of defects and returns.
Mid and Long-term Production Planning: Through engagement in mid- and long-term strategic production planning, you aid the organization in meeting future demands without overextending resources.
Headcount Management: You monitor changes in the production plan and collaborate with HR and Production Management to ensure the workforce aligns with production needs.
Production Planning Meetings and Daily Improvement: By actively participating in daily, weekly, and monthly planning meetings with the Production Manager and Senior Operations Director, you stay in alignment on production strategies and updates, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement while driving incremental enhancements for processes and efficiency.
These meetings include, but are not limited to, Managing for Daily Improvements (M4DI) and Demand Capacity constraints (DCC).
